Mexico: El Tri Assembles Its Squad For March WCQ

The time has come, and El Tri has put together it’s legion for March World Cup qualifiers. A few names are missing on Mexico (and valuable ones) due to injury, but the names called are experienced to take on Costa Rica and Trinidad & Tobago.

Here is Mexico’s roster…

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa, Jose de Jesús Corona, Alfredo Talavera

Defenders: Diego Reyes, Héctor Moreno, Carlos Salcedo, Oswaldo Alanís, Rafael Márquez, Néstor Araujo, Miguel Layún

Midfielders: Andrés Guardado, Jesús Molina, Héctor Herrera, Jürgen Damm, Jonathan dos Santos, Jesús Gallardo, Luis Reyes, Luis Montes, Orbelín Pineda, Jesús Dueñas

Forwards: Carlos Vela, Chicharito, Raúl Jiménez, Oribe Peralta, Elías Hernández

Unfortunately, for El Tri, several key players will not be called to injury: TecatitoGiovani dos SantosJavier Aquino, and Hirving Lozano. However, there’s plenty of chemistry in the call-up as is, which should cause Mexico fans to exhale a bit.

These will be two important matches in March, as Costa Rica visits Mexico on March 24, then Mexico heads down to Trinidad & Tobago on March 28.

El Tri currently has 4 points after two matches played, and four more points or more could send them into a very comfortable position.
