Arsenal have revealed to be the favorites to sign Inter Milan‘s highly prized Croatian midfielder, Marcelo Brozovic. Italian publication “Tuttosport” reported that Inter Milan will be forced to sell a player or players in order to get them back into the clear with their Financial Fair Play obligations. Internazionale di Milano will have to make up around £20 million in order to fulfill the Financial Fair Play standard. Marcelo Brozovic is valued at exactly £20 million by Inter Milan.
Inter Milan have had other players linked with moves away from the Milanese club. Ivan Perisic, Mauro Icardi, and Joao Miranda are all linked with moves away from Inter Milan. The better option for the Nerazzurri would be to sell Brozovic and keep the other three players to aid them in their journey back to the top of the Serie A table.
Arsenal are also supposed to open their wallet this summer transfer window and are expected to pay the £20 million for the Croatian sensation. Along with Arsenal spending this summer it is also expected that Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta will be leaving the North London Club for greener pastures.
The 23-year-old Croatian has made 27 appearances for Internazionale di Milano this season. Brozovic has tallied six goals and four assists, as a center midfield player those are standout numbers. The best possibility for Inter would be for them to keep Brozovic and not sell anyone else, but in order for that to happen they need to stick to the Financial Fair Play guidelines.
The only way they can achieve that is by qualifying for the UEFA Champions League. Inter Milan are currently in fourth place behind third place AS Roma by six points. Roma are holding onto Italy’s last Champions League spot and there is only six more games to play in the Serie A. Inter’s hopes to hold onto their current squad and press for the Champions League are slowly being dashed.
The test this Saturday to get at least a draw against second place Scudetto chasing Napoli will prove that Inter Milan can potentially keep their squad and return to the highly prized UEFA Champions League. The clock is ticking for Internazionale di Milano.
