Chile vs Argentina Copa America Final Rematch

This week in the world of futbol it is time for international play, South America prepares itself for another round of the Conmebol Qualifiers for Russia 2018. Many great match ups are set up but one of the most attractive games will be the rematch of the last Copa America 2015 between the Champions of their Zone Chile against the Copa America 2015 and World Cup 2014 runner up, the Albicelestes Argentina.

Although Chile comes with a team full of returning players and the same base roster that led them to glory in home ground in 2015 this will be a great test for their new head coach Juan Antonio Pizzi  to prove he can fit the big shoes left by Jorge Sampaoli. Although it will be his first game as head coach he will have all eyes on him.

On the other hand Argentina led by the best player in the world Lionel Messi and with Gerardo “Tata” Martino as head coach have not had the start to the qualifiers they wanted to have, but coming from a win versus a great team of Colombia they look at this as the perfect way of not only getting partial sports revenge on La Roja but also a way to turn this bad start around and place themselves on top of the table.

Both are in need of these three points and both will need to do anything they can to reach them. This match will take place at the beautiful Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos Santiago De Chile which gives La Roja a small advantage. But that does not intimidate the Argentine squad one bit since they have favorable numbers visiting Chile, although It must be said the Chileans most recently won the Copa America against Argentina in Roja territory.

It will be a meeting of many great players Such as Lionel Messi and Claudio Bravo who are teammates at Barcelona but will be rivals for that night. Arturo Vidal (Bayern Munich), Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero (Manchester City), Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Angel Di Maria (Paris Saint-Germain) along with Messi and Bravo are some key players to watch being that they are all coming to this game in good form.

Lionel Messi is yet to play a single game for his National Team for these qualifiers and Tata Martino and the rest of the Albiceleste fans will be expecting a lot from who by many is considered the best player in the world as Argentina must turn around as soon as possible if they want to qualify at the top of the CONMEBOL standings.

Will Argentina prove to be to big of a test for new coach Juan Antonio Pizzi? Or will Chile make home their strength? All is set for a great match between the last two finalists from South America’s oldest international tournament (Copa America). This is guaranteed to be one of the most exiting games the FIFA International break has to offer. No one will want to miss out on a game like this – who will win?

I say the football world wins because if this game lives up to expectations we are in for one heck of a match.
