The Mexican’s in Europe continued their campaign this weekend, and we saw some nice highlights from several, including some clutch contributions.

Chicharito – Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)

Chicharito played a huge role in Leverkusen’s 2-1 over SC Hauenstein, as he scored and assisted in their two goals in the German Cup match.

Diego Reyes, Miguel Layún, Hector Herrera, Tecatito – FC Porto (Portugal)

Layún, Herrera, and Tecatito were all in the starting XI for FC Porto in their match against Estoril. Layún saw himeself as the man of the match with a fantastic assist on the left wing.

Diego Reyes was called up, but saw no minutes.

Hector Moreno, Andrés Guardado – PSV (Netherlands)

Moreno and Guardado were pivotal for PSV again, as they helped secure another three points in a 4-0 drubbing of PEC Zwolle. Guardado claimed an assist on one of the four goals.

Memo Ochoa – Granada (Spain)

Ochoa has cemented himself as the new keeper at Granada. He was the starter in the 1-1 draw against Villarreal.

Carlos Vela – Real Sociedad (Spain)

Carlos Vela played eleven minutes against Real Madrid, but Real Sociedad would lose the match badly, 0-3.

Marco Fabián – Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany)

Fabián saw no minutes in Eintracht Frankfurt’s cup match against Magdeburg.

Raúl Jiménez – Benfica (Portugal)

Raúl came on in the 57th minute and he played a very good game against Vitoria Setubal. He had several close opportunities to score, and he was the penalty taker in the 82nd minute to equalize the game.

Carlos Salcedo making a great move

In official news, Carlos Salcedo (22) is departing with Chivas Guadalajara to join Italian club Fiorentina. The defender has played for Chivas since 2015, and will be the only current Mexican in Italy. It is a good move for the future depth in the defense for Mexico moving forward.
