El Tri Report: Mexicans Shine Again

The Mexicans were back in action for their clubs this weekend, and we saw mixed results for those abroad.

As usual, TheStoppageTime gives you the details on El Tri’s best in Europe.

Raúl Jiménez – Benfica (Portugal)

Benfica saw a 3-0 victory on Friday, December 4 against Academia de Coimbra. However, Raúl did not play due to a minor injury, and rested.

Next match: Atlético Madrid on December 8

Andres Guardado, Hector Moreno – PSV (Netherlands)

Both players went the full 90 minutes against Vitesse in PSV’s 1-0 victory.

Also, both players were given the best ratings of the match.

Chicharito – Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)

Chicharito continued his great scoring form against Hertha Berlin, leveling the game for Bayer Leverkusen despite being down a man.

They would lose, however, 1-2.

Miguel Layún, Tecatito, Hector Herrera – FC Porto (Portugal)

The three Mexicans returned to the starting XI for FC Porto against Paços de Ferreira, and they did not dissapoint.

Tecatito Corona equalized for FC Porto in the 29th minute, with a cheeky chip past the keeper.

Hector Herrera made a great hustle play in the 61st minute and won a penalty for FC Porto. Miguel Layún would step up and convert to close out the game, 2-1.

Jonathan dos Santos – Villarreal (Spain)

Jonathan was placed in Villarreal’s XI against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday during their 2-1 win.

He would be subbed out in the 79th minute after picking up and injury. He was given a 7.4 rating for the match.

Carlos Vela, Diego Reyes – Real Sociedad (Spain)

Carlos Vela started the match for Real Sociedad in their 2-1 victory over Eibar. He would be subbed out after 68 minutes of play.

Diego Reyes made the bench, but did not see any minutes.
