Five Players Who Are Not Getting Enough Credit In The EPL

With the Premier League in full swing, I thought it was about time to take a look at the 5 players who are not getting enough praise this season. There are tons of players who will never get enough credit that they undoubtedly deserve, but I thought it best to limit myself to 5 players who have flown under the radar while putting in impressive performances all season long. So without further ado, let’s finally give these guys some recognition.

  1. Bacary Sagna

Sagna is the second choice Right Back for City when Argentine full back, Pablo Zabaleta is healthy. But with Zaba starting off the campaign in some injury trouble, Sagna has filled in brilliantly for the Citizens. He has held his own against some of the best players in the world all while having the pressure of Zabaleta coming back in on his chest at all times. In the last two matches, Sagna has even proven to be a worthy Left Back with both Gael Clichy and Alexsander Kolorav being sidelined with injuries. During the Sevilla match, the defensive line looked shaky and let in some potentially deadly balls in. Sagna stepped up and saved the likes of Otamendi and Mangala from utter disaster at home on a Champions League night. If Sagna keeps up this form, Pellegrini will have a tough choice each match on who gets the nod at Right Back. Expect the French International to be a vital part of the City defense this season.

  1. Theo Walcott

Arsenal is sitting in second place, that’s right SECOND place in the EPL this season only behind the blue team from Manchester. Walcott has been a huge part of the success even though you may only be hearing about Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil. Having his position taken away from him, Arsene Wenger decided to give Walcott a chance up front for the Gunners. Walcott has shined up front and has been a creative and tactical genius. Although he has not been a goal-scoring machine, He has been a key reason the attack for the Gunners has been so deadly. Look out for Walcott to play a more important role for Arsenal as the season continues.

  1. Daley Blind

Manchester United have been playing all season short at the Center Back position. But who has stepped up and played out of position? None other than Dutch International, Daley Blind. Blind stands only at 5’11’’. He has done a stand up job wherever he is called upon to play for the Red Devils. Blind has proven he can play in the midfield and in defense for United and could be a crucial part of the chase for the EPL title. Having played in several positions, Van Gaal has now put himself in a position to have a capable back up all over the field in one player. United fans should be impressed with what Blind has been able to accomplish even on his off days.

  1. Yohan Cabaye

Remember this guy? The former Newcastle United standout has returned to the EPL this season and has been quietly helping Crystal Palace reach 6th place in the table. I know Cabaye was one of the big summer signings but I find myself hardly hearing about him in the news even though he has been fantastic for Palace. He has scored in his last 3 Premier League outings and even notched an assist against West Brom. With Cabaye patrolling the middle of the park for Palace and causing attackers to be uncomfortable, all while coring goals, Palace may have snagged the signing of the season.

      1. Jamie Vardy

The English shining star for Leicester City this season. Vardy has been phenomenal and even with his astounding performances this season even landing himself some England call ups. With Mahrez attacking alongside him, Vardy has been able to have freedom and flexibility up front. In only 9 matches for the Foxes, Vardy has scored 9 goals and an assist. Vardy has been a player many are still overlooking despite his impressive start to the campaign. Leicester City fans will be hopeful that Vardy can continue his form throughout the entire campaign.
