The Bianconeri have leapfrogged Napoli into first place on the weekend after defeating the side from Naples 1-0 in Torino, Italy. Juventus have also extended their unbeaten run in Serie A to 15 games. Plenty was expected from both sides since both Juventus and Napoli boast Serie A’s most on form attackers, Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

Napoli’s Argentine forward did come close before halftime after the club from Naples broke up the field from the right flank. A cross was whipped into the box for Higuain by Elseid Hysaj but Leonardo Bonucci would go onto frustrate Gonzalo.

Italian midfield General Claudio Marchisio attempted a long distance shot from the top of the box but Pepe Reina was alert and collected the shot with ease. The sides entered the dressing room at halftime at a deadlock.

The visitors nearly had a dream come true in the beginning of the second half when Lorenzo Insigne danced pass three defenders before trying his luck on Gianluigi Buffon‘s goal. The veteran Italian goalkeeper did a good job to deny Insigne’s effort with a clinical save.

Dybala had a decent attempt to open the scoring for the hosts after the hour mark of the match. French magician midfielder Paul Pogba worked his magic to find the young Argentine winger but Dybala aimed too high from 15 yards. The match look possibly destined to end in a scoreless draw but Italy substitute Simone Zaza had other plans.

The former Sassuolo winger entered the match in the 58th minute mark for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata. Zaza tried his luck from quite a distance in the dying minutes of the match. Zaza’s shot took a deflection from Spanish defender Raul Albiol and left Reina unable to palm the shot out of the net.

Simone’s strike gave Juve their 15th win in a row in Italy and marked a very fascinating comeback. The “Old Lady” began this Scudetto campaign in poor form and many questioned their resolve to win their fourth title in a row. No one is questioning them now since they have surpassed Napoli win this empathic win at the last minute of the match.

Juventus will travel to Stadio Renato Dell’Ara to take on tenth place Bologna on Friday while Napoli entertains a resilient AC Milan at the San Paolo.
