In today’s Ligue 1 roundup, Leonardo Jardim’s AS Monaco return to the top of the Ligue 1 standings after pasting Rudi Garcia’s Olympique de Marseille 4-1 at the Orange Velodrome. Thomas Lemar (16′), Radamel Falcao (21′) and Bernardo Silva off a brace (45′, 57′) scored for Monaco, while Jorge Rolando scored in the 20th minute for OM. Meanwhile, at Roazhon Park, a 39th minute goal from Julian Draxler kept Unai Emery’s Paris Saint-Germain in the hunt with a 1-0 win over Christian Gourcuff’s Stade Rennais FC.
The week began with a 1-1 draw between Patrick Collot’s Lille OSC and Christophe Galtier’s AS Saint-Etienne at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. At the Stade de la Mosson et du Mondial 98, Frederic Hantz’s Montpellier HSC and Olivier Dall’Oglio’s Dijon FCO played to a 1-1 draw. Julio Tavares put Dijon ahead 1-0 on 27 minutes but in the 87th minute, Jerome Roussillon equalized for the hosts.
Issiar Dia was the hero for Pablo Correa’s AS Nancy Lorraine in the 1-0 win over Francoise Ciccolini’s SC Bastia at the Stade Marcel Picot. Patrice Garande’s SM Caen shocked the nation with a 3-2 stunner over Bruno Genesio’s Olympique Lyonnais. Ivan Santini (29′, 61′) and Alexandre Lacazette (35′, 45′) scored braces for Caen and Lyon, respectively, with Maxwel Cornet’s own goal in the eighth minute proving to be the difference.
