Ligue 1: Balotelli Makes Sure Nice Guys Finish First At OGC Nice

Very few teams can stop Lucien Favre’s OGC Nice. They have the form and technique that has made them unstoppage heading into November. Mario Balotelli arrival has turned the fortunes of the club around, as seen in their 4-1 win over Rene Girard’s FC Nantes at the Allianz Riviera. Balotelli scored in the 27th minute and Wylan Cyprien added a brace in the ninth and 65th minutes. Alassane Plea also scored in the 60th minute of play for the Eagles. Emiliano Sala also got in on goal in the 47th minute of play for Nantes.

Week 11 began with a 1-0 win for Unai Emery’s Paris Saint-Germain over Frederic Antonetti’s Lille OSC. Edinson Cavani was the hero in the 65th minute for PSG at the Stade Pierre Mauroy. Meanwhile, Alexander Lacazette returned to form with a brace in the 15th and 52nd minutes of a 2-1 win for Bruno Genesio’s Olympique Lyonnais over Pascal Dupraz’s Toulouse FC at the Stadium Municipal. Rafael was sent off for Lille in the 56th minute on a second yellow, while Christopher Jullien delivered an early equalizer in the 26th minute for Toulouse.

Francois Ciccolini’s SC Bastia and Olivier Dall’Oglio’s Dijon FCO played to a scoreless draw at the Stade Armand Cesari. Nill de Pauw was the hero for Antoine Koumbouare’s EA Guingamp in a 1-0 win over Stephene Moulin’s Angers SCO at the Stade Municipal du Roudourou. Meanwhile, FC Lorient, who remain without a manager for another week, played to a scoreless draw with Frederic Hantz’s Montpelier HSC at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir. Zargo Toure (16′) and Sylvain Marveaux (24′) scored for Lorient while Souleymane Camara (45′ + 2′) and Morgan Sanson (69′) were on goal for Montpellier.

At the Stade Marcel Picot, goals from Christophe Mandanne (6′) and Alou Diarra (12′) powered Pablo Correa’s AS Nancy Lorraine to a 2-0 shutout win over Patrice Garande’s SM Caen. Meanwhile, at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, Loic Perrin (18′) and Kamil Glik (5′) traded goals for Christophe Galtier’s AS Saint-Etienne and Leonardo Jardim’s AS Monaco in a 1-1 draw.

Wesley Said’s 56th minute strike gave Christian Gourcuff’s Stade Rennais FC a 1-0 shutout win over Philippe Hinschbergers’ FC Metz at Roazhon Park. Finally, Franck Passi’s Olympique de Marseille and Jocelyn Gourvennec’s Girondins de Bordeaux played to a scoreless draw at the Stade Velodrome.
