The week started with a 2-0 win for Sergio Conceicao’s FC Nantes over Stephane Moulin’s Angers SCO at the Stade Jean Bouin. Guillaume Gillet (19′) and Amine Harit (48′) scored for Angers. Bernard Casoni’s FC Lorient defeated Christophe Galtier’s AS Saint-Etienne 2-1 at the Stade Yves Allainmat – Le Moustoir on goals from Romain Philippoteaux (40′) and Jimmy Cabot (90′). Vincent Pajot pulled one back in the first minute of second half stoppage time but the visitors played most of the match a man down with a 10th minute red card to Jessy Moulin. Frederic Hantz’s Montpellier HSC continue to home cook with a 4-0 win over Jocelyn Gourvennec’s Girondins de Bordeaux at the Stade de la Mosson et du Mondial 98. Paul Lasne (13′), Stephane Sessegnon (20′), Steve Mounie (84′) and Yacouba Sylla (90′ + 2′) scored for Montpellier, while Jeremy Menez was sent off in the 38th minute of play for Bordeaux.
Francois Ciccolini’s SC Bastia defeated Christian Gourcuff’s State Rennais FC 2-1 at Roazhon Park. Enzo Crivelli (59′) and Gael Danic (63′) were on goal for Bastia, while Giovanni Sio (71′) pulled one back late for the hosts. Over at the Stadium Municipal, Pascal Dupraz’s Toulouse FC and Pablo Correa’s AS Nancy Lorraine played to a 2-2 draw. Youssef Ait Bennasser opened the scoring for Nancy in the 33rd minute but Christopher Jullien leveled proceedings in the 85th minute of play.
Patrice Garande’s SM Caen shut out Philippe Hinschberger’s FC Metz 3-0 on goals from Yann Karamoh (20′), Ivan Santini (61′) and Papa Sane (90′ + 3′) at the Stade Michel d’Ornano. Milan Bisevac was sent off in the 57th minute for Metz. Nice defeated Olivier Dall’Oglio’s Dijon FCO 2-1 at the Allianz Riviera on a Mario Balotelli brace in the 32nd and 50th minutes. Julio Tavares score scored a 37th minute equalizer for Dijon, who played down to 10 men on an 88th minute red card to Cedric Varrault.
Over at the Stade Velodrome, goals from Bafetimbi Gomis (56′) and Florian Thauvin (60′) powered Rudi Garcia’s Olympique de Marseille to a 2-0 shutout win over Patrick Collot’s Lille OSC. Finally, at the Stade Louis II, Bruno Genesio’s Olympique Lyonnais stunned Leonardo Jardim’s AS Monaco 3-1 on goals from Rachid Ghezzal (29′), Mathieu Valbuena (65′) and Alexandre Lacazette (87′). Tiemoue Bakayoko (70′) scored for Monaco, who played down to 10 men on a 38th minute red card to Benjamin Mendy.
