Two teams looking for a resurgence in form clash down at Kardinia Park in Geelong, Victoria, Australia on Friday, January 8, 2015. Tony Walmsley‘s Central Coast Mariners delivered an authoritative 3-1 win over the Wellington Phoenix at home and play as the designated host to Kevin Muscat‘s Melbourne Victory, who are back to victorious ways after shutting out the Newcastle Jets 1-0. The match kicks off Round 14 of the 2015-16 Hyundai A-League season.

For Melbourne Victory, the arrival of former Hume City and Brisbane Roar ace Jai Ingham could be the spark the defending champions need to maintain their form and increase their production.

“I personally have high expectations about him. He is a great, young player,” Besart Berisha said of Ingham. “He’s very quick, and a very technical, strong player. We’re all really happy he signed for us, and hopefully he gets an opportunity on Friday night.

“It was not meant to be for him in Brisbane. There are similar players (to him) in Brisbane and we don’t have similar players like him here. I hope he finds his luck here. I believe in him. I hope he can help us to now pick up more points. He’s good one-on-one, he’s dynamic, and he’s very quick with the ball. Things like this can help with our game. He brings everything we need.

“It’s always good to be in Geelong. The support here (last season) was really great. We’re happy to be back. It definitely makes a difference to have our crowd here. They give us a lot of motivation.”
