PSG’s Laurent Blanc Worried About Champions League Draw

Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc is concerned on the upcoming UEFA Champions League draw on the 14th of December. Blanc’s concern is in fact very real since they can potentially be drawn against Manchester City, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich. All of said teams can very well defeat the Parisiens and end their Champions League dreams.

There are other possibilities that the Parisiens could be drawn against smaller fish. Laurent Blanc would most likely be pleased if his side were drawn up against Wolfsburg, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea or Porto, and Zenit St Petersburg. The Parisiens would rather face up against any of said clubs over Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Blanc lamented about Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Rightly so since the only blemish to PSG’s group stage was that defeat by the Merengues.

Thankfully for PSG the only difficult match in Ligue 1, before the round of 16 in Champions League, is their visit to the coastal city of Caen. Caen will play Paris Saint-Germain on the 19th of December. Caen currently sits in third place in Ligue 1 and is contending for the coveted European spot in France (Top four).

Paris Saint-Germain is still 15 points away from second place Angers in Ligue 1. The Parisiens unbeaten run in France is gift of timing in case they do get that terrible draw. They will have more time to prepare for that lingering fixtures come February.
