A second half come back from Torino denied Inter Milan their first win of the season in a tight game at the San Siro.
Perisic opened the scoring for the Nerazzurri early on with a fine strike after getting onto the end of Mauro Icardi’s cross. Inter nearly doubled their lead 10 minutes later with a header in which Sirigu got down well to his left to save the effort. New signing Stefan de Vrij doubled the Nerazzurri lead in the 33rd minute with a header that found its way into the bottom corner.
Torino managed just one shot on target with a weak header which was easy for Handanovic. Walter Mazzari’s side came close again through Falque just before half time when his free kick went narrowly past the post.
Torino came out the second half the more positive of the two teams and 10 minutes into the second half Andrea Belotti got a goal back with a close range finish after a long range pass from Iago Falque. Midway through the second half Torino equalised through Soualiho Meite when he found the bottom corner.
Inter Milan lacked any sort of attacking spark in the second half but did come close in injury time when Torino keeper Sirigu was forced into a great save and Inter captain Mauro Icardi put the final chance of the game over the bar when he was stretching to get on the end of a cross.
Inter Milan looked more of a threat when new signing Keita came on and injected some pace into the attack but the visitors also looked like they could complete the come back with some good attacking play. Inter are yet to win a game this season following last week’s defeat against Sassuolo, so they will be eager for new signing Radja Nainggolan to be fully fit. Both sides will be looking for for their first win next time they play when Inter Milan visit Bologna and Torino host SPAL.
