West Ham has been a huge surprise this season in the Premier League. They currently sit in third place in the standings after defeating worrisome Chelsea 2-1.
The Hammers (6-2-2) are in fantastic form. It’s no fluke either. This campaign the East London club has defeated Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal away from home. City and Arsenal are 1 and 2 respectively in the table.

What’s more impressive is that West Ham has a better record on the road than at home. In 5 league matches away from Boleyn Ground, they have 4 victories and a draw. They are undefeated on the road and have scored a league-leading 12 goals on the road.
This team doesn’t posses a star player per say- they’re leading scorer Dimitri Payet has only 5 goals on the season. A total complete team effort by the squad because they battle for all 90 minutes on the pitch.
Credit their manager, former West Ham player Slaven Bilic. He was appointed manager this past June and has quickly turned things around. A team primarily known for being categorized as a below average team, has become an exciting team to watch.
Can they keep it up?
The way this team battles on the field they will be a force to be reckoned with. Thus far the Premiership hasn’t been able to figure them out. Every week someone new steps up for the club.
West Ham is unbeaten since August 22.
Their next 4 EPL matches include three middle-of-the-pack teams and a top-10 club, two away games and two at home. Watford, Everton, Tottenham and West Brom are up next for the Hammers.
